More than 50 years after its launch, the King Seiko VANAC is reborn with a new mechanical movement and a strong, angular design.
In 1972, King Seiko, characterized by its classic designs, launched the VANAC series, with its bright colors and innovative, multifaceted designs. Today, a new VANAC inherits the spirit that infused the original, opening up new possibilities for King Seiko.
Design
Inspired by a panoramic view of Tokyo’s city lights stretching into the horizon.
Case
Though the case has a strong and dynamic angularity that makes it look as if it were carved from a block of solid metal, its bezel-less design creates an elegant and thin appearance.
The case’s distortion-free mirror finish, achieved through advanced polishing techniques, creates dynamic shadows and highlights, exuding a striking presence.
Dial
Adorned with glitter-like particles, the dial evokes the countless city lights shimmering across Tokyo at night, creating a refined radiance within its serene and understated appearance.
The hands and index ring feature deep, dark tones, lending the watch a sophisticated and restrained character. This subtle contrast further accentuates the dial’s brilliance, allowing the depth and beauty of Tokyo’s evening skyline to be experienced when glancing at one’s wrist.
Bracelet
The newly developed bracelet has been achieved through the combination of links with mirror and hairline finishing, ensuring comfort on the wrist and an unmistakable air of luxury and sophistication.
Case Back
The new VANAC has the first see-through case back of any King Seiko watch following the collection’s relaunch in 2022, and the King Seiko “shield” returns, elegantly expressed on the sapphire crystal case back.
The watches are equipped with the new Caliber 8L45, Seiko's most precise mechanical movement in production, achieving a stable accuracy range of +10 to -5 seconds per day.
Caliber 8L45
Caliber 8L45 achieves a power reserve of 72 hours thanks to an improved mainspring, and it has an accuracy of +10 to –5 seconds per day. It was engineered to have the robustness and other qualities demanded of movements that power modern-day mechanical sports watches. The movement features exquisite wave patterns on the rotor and bridges, adding a touch of luxury and refinement to its design.
Through its combination of high performance and functional beauty, Caliber 8L45 represents the pinnacle of Seiko’s mechanical watch movements.
