Introducing the Hank Aaron Limited Edition

It’s a great joy for us to introduce you to the Hank Aaron Limited Edition. Hank Aaron was a great athlete and an even greater humanitarian. He was a humble man who never went in search of the limelight, and yet it found him because of his extraordinary achievements and work off the field.

Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1934. In the early 1950s, America’s baseball leagues were still segregated, as such, Aaron entered the Negro Leagues. Such was his talent that in the following years he was recruited into Major League Baseball (MLB) by the Milwaukee Braves (now the Atlanta Braves), where he would go on to become one of the most successful baseball players in history, breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home-run record. He was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1986.

Aaron encountered racism on and off the field. While chasing Ruth’s home run record, he received hate mail and threats, nevertheless, he persevered. As part of his lifelong desire to help others,, he and his wife Billye set up the Chasing the Dream Foundation to offer young people with limited opportunities scholarships to help them realize their dreams. The foundation has since helped more than 800 young people. Aaron died in 2021.

The Hank Aaron Limited Edition celebrates Aaron’s incredible life and humanitarian work. Based on the Big Crown Pointer Date, it takes its colour palette from Hank Aaron’s uniform. We’re going to make 2,297 of them, one for each of Hank’s RBIs (runs batted in), still an MLB record.
